First of all, why would you do your own make up when there are at least a hundred beauticians in your state who would love to work with you on your wedding day? First of all, you should know that wedding make up is expensive if you’re hiring the pros.
Secondly, you just need to know the basics of make up and cosmetics application to get that stunning ‘natural’ look on your wedding day. Of course you’ll be wearing make up but it should be applied in such a way that anyone will think you’re just naturally radiant and peachy. There should be no gaudy make up application. If you want to look and feel like the perfect bride, learn how to put on your make up for your wedding day.
Make Up Tips for a Bride
Practice makes perfect. Make sure you practice with putting on your make up a week or so before your ceremony. You won’t have time to mix and match the colors, or find the perfect shade of lipstick on the day itself, so you will have to do it while there’s still time to burn.
Choose colors that perfectly complement your dress, hairstyle and mood. A couple of practice sessions should solve this issue and help you learn some tricks and ways to enhance your looks as well! Be in the know when it comes to make up brands. Know which brands don’t run or fade after a few hours. Make sure the lipstick you choose won’t stain the wine glass or your new husband’s immaculate white shirt just in case you bump into him accidentally.
There are some make up instructions available on the internet. Read some magazines and look at how celebrity makeup artists do it. There are certain procedures involved in obtaining that flawlessly made up look. Again, practice putting on the make up with a friend so that your hands can move automatically when the wedding day comes and wedding jitters hit you like a ton of bricks.
Perhaps the most important thing to consider is your skin tone. Use only foundation that will highlight all your features in such a manner that your original complexion isn’t overpowered. To prevent foundation lines from showing, get a foundation that’s the perfect match to your complexion.
Next is skin type. Ask your dermatologist for a great oil-free matte foundation you can use on your wedding day if your face is oily. If your face dries up when stressed or under severe heat, get a foundation that will not cake off when your skin dries up. You won’t be able to go to the powder room easily if you have a makeup emergency.
Choose a good concealer. It’s great to have around if you’re an excited bride and you cannot sleep the night before the ceremony. Mix some concealer with your foundation so that it blends smoothly. Face powder in a tiny applicator should be with your maid of honor at all time to ensure that she can help you just in case your make up runs. Remember to use it just right before the picture taking phase of the ceremony.
Muted eye makeup is best for a bride. If you’re wearing white, it’s best to keep the eye make up to a minimum, particularly if you have deep set eyes. To enhance your eyes, use a dash of waterproof eye liner and waterproof mascara. Use a bright lip color to enhance your lips. Red is a symbol of youth, but for your wedding day, too-red is probably not appropriate. Use lip gloss to make that wedding kiss more perfect.
